There are only 5
countries in the world that still use Fahrenheit to measure temperature, the
Bahamas, Belize, the Cayman Islands, Palau, and the United States.
Once upon a time
Fahrenheit was used by almost all English speaking countries, but in the 1960’s
and 70’s most of these countries switched over to Celsius, with the United
States being the exception.
Today, only five
countries, including the United States, use the Fahrenheit scale. The Bahamas,
Belize, the Cayman Islands, Palau, and the United States and associated
territories (American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands) use the scale for
every day applications, though the scientific community around the world uses
either Celsius of Kelvin.
Canada sometimes uses Fahrenheit, but the official
temperature scale is Celsius.
